Cyd Harrell has been working with civic tech for over a decade, and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience during that time. She’s gathered that experience and knowledge and created a friendly guide for those of us who work, or want to work with technology in the public sector.
We talk about the types of projects, partnerships, and people that civic technologists encounter and how perhaps the way that you can be successful in civic tech is a way that we all ought to work – even in the private sector. We discuss recognising and manage your own privilege, and some of the methods you can use to make change happen and make it last.
