#85 James & Per & Bart spin the wheel of persuasion

When Bart, James and Per start talking, they just don’t stop. This is an extended and thought-provoking interview with Bart Schutz that we recorded at Conversion Jam 4.

We talk about persuasion techniques. What’s going on behind the eyes in our reptile brains? How “touching” websites affects your conscious brain. How and when to reach out to the conscious and subconscious parts of the brain. How making something more difficult can increase conversion.

#76 James & Per thank you for subscribing

Episode 76 is a link show. James and Per discuss three articles they’ve discovered on their digital travels. First – 45 days to plan a Tweet? Just a bit of bad press, deliberate PR? How do we know what’s true anymore? Second – Thank you for signing up! Pay attention to your thank you pages. And finally – The share icon that nobody agrees on. We’re talked hamburgers before, now it’s the turn of the share icon to be discussed.

This podcast is episode 1 of 6 recorded at Conversion Jam 3

The night before Conversion Jam 3, 40 optimisers, 3 speakers and 2 podcasters gathered at Valtech‘s offices in Stockholm Sweden for a “pre-jam” meetup.

Conversion Scientist Brian Massey, Wheel of Persuasion Bart Schutz and (Ton Wesseling) all gave 15 minute presentations as well a “conversion clinic” (where they were also joined by Craig Sullivan).

Here is the live unedited footage of all 3 presentations, the 20 minute break, and the conversion clinic.

Episode 11 – James and Per optimise and die

Craig Sullivan, optimiseordie on Twitter, joins us in episode 11 of UXPodcast to talk about the best way to go about creating a mobile site.

For the past three years Craig has been working with Belron. During his time there he’s overseen an increase in conversation rate of 15% and mobile apps and websites account for up to 30% of revenue.

We touch upon research, user experience, user behaviour, strategy, and a whole load of other things as we discuss our way to mobile perfection.
