Show notes
Episode 298 is a linkshow. Per and James discuss two articles that have grabbed their attention – we feature articles about how car culture colonised our thinking, and how Figma is making you a bad designer.
Article one is… How car culture colonised our thinking – and our language by Thalia Verkade and Marco te Brömmelstroet, translated by Fiona Graham. “When we block traffic from a street, like for a sports event or a street party, we say that the street is “closed”. But who is it closed for? For motorists. But really, that street is now open to people.”
Our second featured article is… Figma is making you a bad designer by Emily Schmittler. “if I couldn’t do my job with pen and paper (or whiteboard and marker), then I wasn’t a very good designer. To this day, I find the sentiment to be at my advantage.”
